Prepare right the night before = a smooth Visa Run Tour

Most Visa Run Tour trouble doesn't happen at the border — it starts with forgetting to prepare BEFORE. A missing original passport, the wrong photo size, or an unconfirmed pickup can make you miss the group.

🔑 Run through this checklist the night before departure. A few minutes of prep buys you a smooth day.

✅ 1. Required documents

  • Original passport, valid at least 6 months, with ≥2 blank pages for stamping
  • A soft copy of your new approved E-Visa (if your Visa Run Tour includes the E-Visa) — saved on your phone and printed
  • A 4x6 white-background photo — needed in some cases (e.g. a Cambodian border visa); check with the travel unit whether your trip needs it

✅ 2. Reconfirm with the travel unit (don't skip)

  • Pickup point & time confirmed by the travel unit for your group
  • The final price communicated by the travel unit (the price on the system is a reference price)
  • Border stamping fee: usually included in the package — but ask the travel unit to be sure
  • You have your hold code and a contact channel (Telegram/@VientryVisaBot) for updates

💡 A reminder: the licensed travel unit organises the tour, sets the final price, and takes payment directly. ViEntry connects you with them and handles the technology/reminders.

✅ 3. Personal prep for the day

  • Some cash (border stamping, food on the way) — ask the travel unit how much
  • Fully charged phone + power bank (you'll need to photograph the exit stamp)
  • Personal medication, water, snacks for the day trip
  • Sleep enough — many Visa Run Tours depart early

✅ 4. Understand the "exit stamp photo" step beforehand

Then your new E-Visa is sent via @VientryVisaBot / email, and you re-enter Vietnam the same day.

✅ 5. The morning of (final quick check)

  • Original passport in hand (not a photocopy!)
  • E-Visa (soft copy + printout) in your bag
  • Phone fully charged
  • At the pickup point ahead of time

⚠️ Common misconceptions

❌ "A photocopy of my passport is enough."No. You need the ORIGINAL passport to cross the border.

❌ "The travel unit handles everything, I don't need to prepare." → They handle logistics, but your original documents and photo are yours — missing them means you can't cross.

❌ "Any photo will do." → Some gates need a 4x6 white-background photo. Check in advance.

❌ "The price is already locked on the website." → The website price is a reference price; the travel unit confirms the final price — reconfirm before departure.

❌ "The exit stamp photo is optional." → It's required to finish and receive your new E-Visa.

Sources

  • Document requirements (original passport valid ≥6 months, ≥2 blank pages; soft copy of E-Visa; 4x6 white-background photo when needed; stamping fee) — per the travel unit's preparation guidance; reconfirm at the time
